Della L. Hood-Laster-Vice President, Head Equity Trader

Della is responsible for the equity trading activities at Piedmont.

Della has extensive years of service in the Securities Industry. She worked at Loomis Sayles & Company as Vice President/Equity Trader and was responsible for trading their small and large cap value portfolios. She joined Piedmont Investment Advisors to head the Equity Trading desk in 2002. She is a member of the National Association Securities Professional (N.A.S.P.) serving on the Board of Directors, and she co-chairs the mentor luncheon. She is also a member of the National Organization of Investment Professionals (N.O.I.P),  and she serves locally on the Center for Children &  Family Health Leadership Council.

Della received her AA degree from San Diego College.

Spencer Witherspoon- Vice President, Equity Trader

Spencer is an equity trader at Piedmont. He also works closely with the Research team.

Spencer previously was responsible for supporting the research initiatives for all equity products for Piedmont, as a Research Associate. Prior to joining Piedmont, Spencer served as a financial analyst for Duke University Health System, preparing and distributing financial reports and assisting with the analysis of capital projects. He also assisted with ad-hoc reporting for departmental directors and supported with the preparation of operational budgets. Prior to joining Duke University Health System, he spent a semester abroad in London and interned with Keefe, Bruyette & Woods Limited.

Spencer received his BS from Guilford College in Accounting with a Minor in Economics.
